Posted in Paper waste

Working productively: it's easier said than done. After all, how many different distractions do we have in the course of a day?

These days, you can find 1001 life hacks to take your productivity to the next level. But: one size fits none.

And sometimes that's frustrating. You start the week full of good intentions and as it unfolds, everything turns out differently than you had planned.

Fortunately, you're not the only one – it's all part of the working experience. To put your mind at rest, we have put together a list for you of productivity frustrations we all recognise.

Take a look at the list if you're having a bad day; breathe in, breathe out. Tomorrow is a new day.

1. Don't start
Don't know where to start, so you don't start.

2. Not on the list
Doing lots of things that aren't on your to-do list, which means you can't check them off, which means you feel as though you haven't achieved anything by the end of the day.

3. Putting off
Putting off starting 'just for a moment', and then dreading starting even more.

4. No priorities
Not having a clear idea of your priorities and realising afterwards that you would have been better off tackling your tasks in the opposite order.

5. Boring meetings
Wanting to get started, but then being stuck in a meeting that drags on for far too long and saps your ability to concentrate.

6. I'll remember it
Thinking you'll remember your to-do items.

7. Getting stuck
Getting stuck halfway through a project and realising you should have made a plan beforehand.

8. No focus
Suddenly feeling really productive but actually not having any focus or inspiration.

9. Small tasks first
Always tackling the small tasks or the more enjoyable ones instead of that one big task, just so you feel like you're making progress.

10. Writing vs doing
Being better at writing to-do lists than actually doing them.

✔ That's it!
Still keen to get back to being productive? Our tip: take a holiday! Yes, really.

Think there's an item missing? Let us know and we'll add it to the list!
